Flickering Car Headlights

Flickering Car Headlights

My biggest piece of advice for someone who wants to go on long drives is to not go into them unprepared. Be sure you have enough fuel in your tank, or at the very least have enough money to be able to top up your tank. Remember, driving six hours is one thing, but you still need to be able to get back home! For this reason, I also recommend being able to find somewhere you can stay overnight to get some shut-eye. Driving while feeling that heavy feeling in your eyelids is dangerous.

Feeling tired or running out of fuel wasn’t the issue on my most recent drive. The issue I encountered was with the car’s electrics. Let me paint a bit of a picture – imagine driving down a dark road that is secluded among trees, only for your driving path to suddenly become dim with a flickering light. At first, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. No tricks. It turns out one of the headlights had simply started flickering and lost brightness. It was rather peculiar.

Now I need to find a good mechanic near me that has technicians who are experienced with auto electronics within vehicles. Usually, when something goes wrong with my car I can take care of it myself, but this time is an exception. I thought that a dim, flickering headlight might have had something to do with the electrics in my car but according to some research I did online, a dying battery could be the issue.

Next week I’ll be taking the car to the auto electrician. Milperra is only a five-minute drive away so at least I won’t have to trek too far. I do hope that whatever this issue is, it will be a cheap one. I can’t afford to fork out heaps of cash right now. I’ve recently had a whole heap of other expenses. I guess the only way to look at it is the sooner I get this car repaired, the sooner I’ll be back on the road.
