New Car Season

New Car Season

I love new car season! When I say I love it, I mean I am absolutely mental for it. New car season means late drives, new car smell, finding new gadgets for my car and showing off to my mates. You probably have no idea what I’m talking about when I say new car season. See, new car season is exactly what it sounds like; it’s a month when I get a new car. For an absolute car nerd for me, that’s every ten to fourteen months depending on what’s available. For others, new car season is a new car every two to three years. I just could not do that. I need frequency!

New car season does require a lot of work and regular trips to the mechanic. That’s not because these new cars are bad. It’s because I like these cars to be set up how I like them. I like to get a tyre fitting for a really cool set of wheels. Judge all you want, but I got white wheels fitted on my last car. Boy, was I judged during my last suspension repair, but I don’t care. It’s my car so I’ll have it how I want.

I even have my specific mechanic that I go to. He’s a top guy. He loves new car season too as he knows he instantly gets money from me. I know for a fact he thinks I’m a bit nuts with my car obsession. In fact, he tells me every time he sees me. I just laugh it off. He’s the best mechanic near the Deception Bay area so I’m not prepared to take his words to heart. I know it’s all banter and that’s what makes the visits to his workshop fun.

Admittedly, this is a tough lifestyle to keep up. It gets expensive if you struggle to turn over cars for more than what you’ve spent. I’m lucky I don’t have a family to support right now because if I did I might have to think twice about doing all this.
